The melody is so catchy, and I love the big, distorted guitars underneath it. Grandaddy was (is, since they are reunited now) underrated.
Songs I Like
George Harrison – Wah-Wah
This song is so rocking and yet so beautiful. All Things Must Pass MIGHT edge out Ram for the best solo Beatles album. Here’s the concert for Bangladesh version, too -
Snowglobe – Happy
Very catchy, bouncy, and fun. Possibly my second favorite song named “Happy”.
The Pipettes – One Night Stand
One night stands would be more fun if you played this song afterward.
Mike Watt – Black Gang Coffee
The Minutemen’s Mike Watt had (I guess still has; albums never go away) a great solo record “Contemplating The Engine Room” in 1997. This is one of my favorite tracks from it.
Immaculate Machine – Dear Confessor
Reminds me of New Pornographers, but less Fleetwood Mac-y.
Peasant – Joanna
Joanna by Peasant What a sweet, nice song.
Dear And The Headlights – Sweet Talk
So you can hear it and hear it and hear it and hear it and hear it.
Vetiver – Been So Long
Very hypnotic, bright, and beautiful. The vocals remind me a little of Magnet.
Russian Futurists – Precious Metals and Paul Simon
Apparently this song is on the NBA 2k11 soundtrack? Who is the genius who did that? Still one of the coolest, catchiest intros to a song I ever heard.
